Every day or everyday? Two words or One word?

  Some English expressions are written as one word or two words depending in their meaning. For example, “everyday” and “every day”.

Everyday” is one words. It is used as an adjective. It means normally and ordinary e.g.
There’s no need to dress up specially. Just wear your everyday clothes.


 

Every day” is an expression formed in two words. It is used as an adverb phrase. It means each day e.g.
John goes to the office by train every day.
