Learning new words is enjoyable and interesting procedure. If you want to build up your abilities speedily, you have to concentrate on learning new vocabulary words as soon as probable. Learning words in a random manner isn't enough to assure your achievement. So, make sure to implement these seven steps to increase your vocabulary words.

Step One:
To increase your vocabulary and learn a new language, you have to believe in yourself otherwise you will destroy yourself. Learning your mother-tongue proves that you have all the abilities and skills that you require to learn a second or many other languages as you want.

Step Two:
The next thing you need to do is set obvious, specific targets. You have to recognize why you are learning the language. Write down your basic goals. In other words, what you are setting out to achieve.

You are declaring to yourself how much vocabulary words you are going to learn and in how much time you need. So, you need to set a time structure by writing down what you need. Otherwise. it will be just a hope as it is something that you are thinking about. It's not a target until you describe a time structure to achieve it.

Step Three:
You need to create an action plan to achieve your essential goals as they are your ultimate aim. So, write down what you need to do to make that real. There are several habits to develop plans. In this way you will know short, mid, and long-term goals.

Step Four:
After knowing your goals, it would be better to learn learning strategies. Strategies like repetition of words, using flash cards and practicing writing.

Step Five:

Applying Strategies is most important step. Some learns know their aims and write them down, but unfortunately they do not apply them. Apply them to make sure that you reach your objectives. Use different vocabulary learning suggestions to find out how they work. Maybe you can't apply all skills, but at least you should find yourself in one of them which encourage you to apply more skills.

Step Six:
It is necessary to build up a regular and every day routine to make helpful habits. If you only do something once or twice, it won't make much variation in learning your vocabulary. If you do it again and again, it will become an influential power that can modify your life and bring about the language learning consequences you wish almost routinely without even thinking about it.

So, begin to set aside particular times to learn the language and strengthen your vocabulary. It can be in different parts of the day or whenever it's best for you. Begin to set aside that time you need to study and apply these methods and strategies to reach your aims.

Step Seven:
Celebrate your Winning. When you get to your aim, make sure to party your winning. Get fun and enjoy about your vocabulary learning achievements. Then, revise what you did as well as evaluate your development. In that way you can set new targets to move to another level of skill or to another new skill.

You have to follow particular step-by-step directions to memorize vocabulary along with their meanings, definitions and phonetics because it is not an easy mission sometimes. Here are five helpful steps in which you can accomplish grade A and then to be on the top in your vocabulary words examination:

First step: Get a sheet of paper and fold it into half. On the right hand side, write a particular word. On the left, write its meaning. Write clearly and in an attractive way.

Fourth step: Go to step one again and take the sheet that you separated into two parts. Cover one side and guess the meaning and the definition of vocabulary. Sign a correct mark each time you say the meaning and definition correct.

Last time we talked about the three primary elements of a powerful presentation.
Now let's talk about the common obstacle.

In many cases the number one obstacle to giving a powerful presentation is fear. In personal development circles, there is a story circulating about a survey done in the USA about what people were afraid of. Apparently the number one fear was of public speaking, and more people listed this as their top fear than they did dying! True or not, there are a lot of native speakers who would find giving a presentation a daunting task. This is no less true for students in an English as a Foreign Language or English for Academic Purposes classroom.

Unfortunately the teacher, whilst prepared to give input on language, may not be a confident public speaker outside the classroom context, and so has less real experience to draw on when helping students with this task.

There is a way forward for the teacher finding him or herself in this situation. One important distinction to know is between courage and practice. Fear is a very normal response in a new situation, and for most, being called on to present to a group is a new situation. It does not mean that the person experiencing the fear is lacking in any aspect other than practice. Repetition is both the mother of skill and the death of nerves! The way to help students overcome anxiety is to put them in situations where they have to present (for short periods) so often that they get used to it. The task moves students back from their panic zone into their stretch zones.

Another way to approach these frequent mini presentations is as an opportunity to give constructive feedback to the students. This helps build a connection that every time the students do a presentation, they learn something. A question for the teacher is, what is one thing that the student can do to improve their presentation? One way to organize this feedback is to compile a checklist that the student is always measured against. Thus there is a clear way of assessing progress available to both students and teachers.

What appears on the checklist will probably depend on the criteria that will be used eventually to assess the student. This therefore is a question for the individual teacher working within their particular context. One size does not fit all. However, a useful way to organise the checklist may well be in to the areas of language, body and voice, as mentioned above.

In summary, presentations can be stressful for native speakers and are additionally challenging for a non native speaker. Presentation skills are sometimes taught by teachers who might not be particularly confident giving public presentations outside the classroom, themselves. Teaching and presenting are overlapping but different skills. One way forward is to deliberately address the ‘fear’ element by immersing the students regularly in giving short presentations. Competence can then be improved and measured by use of a checklist of core skills, created with reference to the individual institution’s assessment criteria. This checklist is then used to guide both teachers and students along the way to giving powerful presentations.

Learning a Foreign Language: How to Really Succeed

Learning a new language can be frustrating and daunting. Especially for those who did not grow up in bilingual homes, adapting the brain to absorb and understand foreign languages is very difficult. This is especially common in the United States, where English dominates, and the vast English speaking geography limits visits to other countries.

So, how does one overcome the limits of a monolingual upbringing? Suppose you want to travel to France or Italy, Greece or Turkey? What about Southeast Asia? India? Brazil? Argentina? Suppose you want to impress your friends, or simply want to better yourself by learning a new tongue? While daunting at first, learning a language is less overwhelming if you take a systematic approach.

For reaching a conversational level, you can cut out a lot of fluff. Rather than trying to swallow the entire dictionary, focus on the five hundred most commonly spoken words. Knowing obscure and archaic terms will not help you much at this stage. Simple Internet searches will usually yield handy dictionaries of the most common words in any given language. If you know the core five hundred spoken words of a language, you should be able to get through the bare bones of a conversation. This allows you to interact more freely, and learn new words through these conversations.

Practicing is very important. While you may be practicing vocabulary, the skill of being able to understand and speak sentences in a natural flow is surprisingly difficult. When someone speaks very quickly at you, you don't want to stare at them for five minutes, painstakingly translating every word they said in your head. You may know each and every one of the words they said, but putting it all together into something intelligible is something your brain needs to adapt to. This is maybe the most overwhelming stage of foreign language study.

The real trick to succeeding lies in grit. You need to be stubborn. You don't necessarily need to work hard; it's much easier to succeed when you are having fun. However, you will need to be consistent in your listening and practice.

There is another magic five hundred number for learning a language, and that is the number of hours dedicated to speaking and listening. You must dedicate yourself to five hundred hours of conversation to become fluent. It is simply a matter of putting in the time. Decide how many hours per week you can devote to learning a language and see how many weeks it will take you to reach your goal.

Spend these hours watching audio materials like TV shows from the country, memorizing new words and using them in sentences. The best type of learning is conversational. See if you can find a friend or tutor to practice with you.

By learning the core words, and sticking to a schedule, you have a real shot at succeeding in learning a second tongue.
